WATCH: Derek Jeter’s super smart nephew reads the Daily News

Just call him Captain Cute. And smart, too!

Derek Jeter’s nephew Jalen Jeter is seen reading from Thursday’s edition of our very own New York Daily News in a short video posted on Instagram by his mom Sharlee Jeter on Friday.

The Captain’s nephew, who we believe is around 5 years old, is clearly pumped about his uncle’s former team inking veteran slugger Matt Holliday.

“Oh, you know what?” Jalen exclaims as he reads about the newest Bronx Bomber in New York’s No. 1 sports section. “Matt Holliday needs to pick a new number.”

When his mom asks why, the precocious kid proceeds to read the entire caption from Mark Feinsand’s article “New Yank eager to ‘help,’ just needs new number.”

Holiday has worn three different numbers in his career: 5, 15 and 7. But as most Yankee fans like Jalen know, all those numbers are retired in the Bronx (5 – Joe DiMaggio, 15 – Thurman Munson, 7 – Mickey Mantle).

“Isn’t that a big information?” Jalen asks after his All-Star reading display.

Sharlee added the hashtag “IJustLearnedAllAboutYouThisMorning” to her social media post to Holliday, calling her son “#MyLittleBaseballWiz.”

Jeter, who retired following the 2014 season, held his annual Turn 2 Foundation holiday event Wednesday at Chelsea Piers. Sharlee Jeter is the president of the Yankee great’s foundation. A story about Uncle Derek and the foundation was also on the page.
