Hakuna matata, Mets fans — Yoenis Cespedes is back with the team, and Noah Syndergaard is back on Twitter to talk about it.
Shortly after the Mets’ four-year $110 million contract with the star outfielder was announced Tuesday, Syndergaard shared an image from the Lion King, giving his two cents on the deal.
“The King Returns #Cespedes,” the Mets ace wrote, along with a crown emoji.
Syndergaard lost teammate Bartolo Colon, his longtime source of comedy gold, when so-called “Big Sexy” signed with the Braves this offseason.
Cespedes’ return, however, is no small consolation prize to neither Syndergaard nor to Mets fans.
Mets infielder Jose Reyes also shared his approval of the 31-year-old’s return to Queens, posting a FaceTime image of the two, along with the message: “Happy face all around, Cespedes for president…. 4 more years!! #LGM”
Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson was quick to tweet out his humorous analysis, sharing an image of a euphoric Jonah Hill with the caption, “Yoenis Cespedes’ car guy right now.”
The Cuban slugger showed off some of his crazy, high-end vehicles during a week-long car show in the parking lot of the Mets’ spring training facility last year.
