Kristaps Porzingis stumps Santa with native Latvian in ESPN ad

Kristaps Porzingis is Santa’s Not-So-Little Helper in a new ESPN commercial for the network’s NBA Christmas Day coverage.

Saint Nick, who usurps Adam Silver as league commissioner in new ad campaign, amusingly airballs his shot at conversing with the Knicks star in his native tongue.

“Kristaps! Hello!” Santa says in Latvian with Porzingis dialed in on FaceTime.

The 7-foot-3 forward responds with his more natural dialect, complimenting Santa on his language skills before asking him if he’s excited for the Knicks’ Christmas matinee against the Celtics.

After a pause, Santa, smiling yet stumped, repeats: “Kristaps! Hello!”

Kristaps Porzingis might want to just call home if he's looking for a fellow Latvian speaker.

Santa will be making more appearances in the commissioner’s chair for ESPN, which along with ABC is airing all five games scheduled for Dec. 25.

Santa is also slated to descend the Madison Square Garden chimney on Wednesday to promote his temporary TV role during the Knicks’ game against the Cavs.

Fortunately, Santa can drop the broken Latvian — Porzingis’ English is as solid as a candy cane.
