Jason Pierre-Paul held out of Giants practice with groin injury

Jason Pierre-Paul was not on the field to start Giants practice Wednesday due to a groin injury, a new and worrisome addition to an uncomfortably long Big Blue injury list.

However a source told the Daily News of Pierre-Paul: “He’s fine, he’s all good.”

But outside linebacker Devon Kennard also was added to the list with a concussion, though Kennard at least was on the field working off to the side with a trainer.

Romeo Okwara and Owa Odighizuwa are the next defensive ends up on the depth chart behind Pierre-Paul. Okwara has been more impressive in limited action.

Linebacker Deonte Skinner’s Tuesday signing makes more sense considering Kennard’s injury. Also on the linebacker depth chart, though, is the athletic Keenan Robinson and backup Mark Herzlich.

The Giants release an injury list at the start of practice and then update players’ practice statuses after.

The pre-practice list:

Eli Apple (groin), Nat Berhe (concussion), Larry Donnell (concussion), Dwayne Harris (toe), Rashad Jennins (thumb), Kennard, Marshall Newhouse (calf), JPP, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (groin), Darian Thompson (foot), Olivier Vernon.

Apple was doing work off to the side. Donnell was out on the field. Harris told the News Tuesday that he expects to play Sunday. Jennings was out on the field, as were DRC and Vernon.

More to come later.
