Browns fans fail holding up banner with wrong spelling

It’s been a dawg day afternoon for the Cleveland Browns’ one-and-only crew of bleacher creatures.

Though the Dawg Pound has plenty of reasons to cheer on its winless team, which led the Jets 20-7 at halftime, the fans taking up the section behind the east end zone at FirstEnergy Stadium could have used a spell check.

Sunday’s Exhibit A in failed syllabic syntax revealed the Pound’s jumbled three-part banner, which read, “G PO DAW UND,” rather than the correct “(THIS IS THE) DAWG POUND.”

It’s understood that the on-field security has plenty of things to keep an eye on, but the intelligible writing was on the wall directly in front of the staff, so the mixup could’ve been avoided relatively easily.

The fans, however, were left in the doghouse.
